Bringing back a 1000-year-old Emirati Tradition that was practiced much before the gulf was known for its oil in the 1960s.
This beautiful art is a dedication to all those Emirati noble Pearl divers (Ghais) & sea-surfers who braved the waves which would last for months on the Arabian Gulf in keeping the Tradition from dying.
These young Divers would start the journey by building the vessel to start the journey with their captain, crew assistant, Singer, Puller & a Cook. They would wear the nose clip ( made from the horn of a gazelle) with a fishing basket & be hours under deep-sea till they reached the pearl beds (AlHiraat) in the quest for oysters & earn their share.
The most perfect shape & color Pearl was called 'Dana'
